Kittur Rani Channamma Puraskar:

This scheme began in the year 2006-07. It was meant to encourage girl
students, who have finished their studies in the II PUC, pursuing their
professional courses through CET. If the students fulfill the criteria mentioned
below, the government shall repay the amount paid by the student to CET.
For this award from every district, 10 girl students are selected by a
committee headed by the District Commissioner. They shall get the award till
they complete the course provided they clear the course in one attempt.
The eligibility criteria for this scheme is as follows.

Students infected from HIV/AIDS or Leprosy and students born to
HIV/AIDS or Leprosy infected parents’ (dead or alive) children are eligible
to get free education and scholarship.

Eligibility criteria:
HIV/AIDS or Leprosy infected parents’ (dead or alive)/ children.
Overlooking the present condition of the patients who are either suffering or recovered from HIV/AIDS/Leprosy.
The above mentioned criteria shall apply to students coming from all parts of Karnataka.
Infected students/family should have domiciled in Karnataka for a minimum period of 25 years.
Infected students/family should have lived in a hostel/orphanage/HIV-Leprosy rehabilitation centers.
Students or their parents suffering from Leprosy or infected with HIV/AIDS should have taken MDT or ART treatment.
This facility is extended only for the students who are pursuing their education in Government or Government Aided degree Colleges.
Eligible students should produce study certificates of the respective courses.
This scheme is meant for girl students only.
The students should belong to the below poverty line.
They should have scored high marks in II PUC.
Student should produce certified copy of MDT / ART treatments
obtained by the competent authority and counter signed by
District Health Officer/District surgeon.
Certified copy of the date of birth to be provided.
Proof of establishment of relationship between parents and
children shall be given in the form of ration card/caste
certificate/income certificate/Ration card.
Authenticity of the above mentioned documents shall be verified
by the Principals of the respective colleges.
Mode of selection:
Amount towards scholarship and free education:
Students can avail the following facilities as listed below.
1. Rs.1500 per mounth x 12 months - free education allowance.
2. Tution fee reimbursement.
3. Rs.3000 -  towards college fees, Books,Cloths and other
necessary stationery.
